MEDCATH Safety IV Catheters features an optimized design, incorporating a 3-beveled needle to minimize puncture force through the skin. Crafted from flexible, durable material, the catheter boasts a smooth taper, kink resistance, and non-irritating properties. Its wings, designed akin to butterfly wings, facilitate secure catheter fixation, while the flashback chamber integrates an hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filter. The safety shield features of the self-activating MEDCATH Safety IV Catheters eliminate the need for additional user manipulation, thereby preventing potential needle stick injuries and associated infections.

Product are available in two main variants:  

• For the variant with injection port: the device includes an integrated side port equipped with a one-way silicone valve. This design allows for intermittent bolus to be administered directly through the port without interrupting the primary infusion line.  
• For the variant without injection port: the device functions as a single conduit. For intermittent bolus can be performed by connecting an external accessory.
